We also try to field a few battle Galaxies for those that don't like to fly or can't fly. So if ye don't get the hang of it, we'll find you a gun seat somewhere.

Should I cert into fire suppression or decoy flares?

( I understand that we as a group are migrating from PS2 to SC. I intend to make SC my primary game and will be building/buying a machine that can run it well in June/July. However, PS2 has been fun and I'd like to play it on the side. )

On what? The Skywhale? On the skywhale the firesuppression is the way to go and on ESF's I run it too as I find it more versatile than flares.

Here is my current Reaver setup :
L3 Composite armor.
Will add Fire suppression.
Need to decide between Racer or Hover Stability. Suggestions?

For weapons, I have the Vortek Rotary. Need to decide between carrying Tomcats and Breaker pods.

Hover is the best airframe for sure because you get the most versatility out of it.

I would swap out composite for nanite auto repair if you can get a few tiers of it.

Keep the vortek. Pods are good, but you're going to really struggle against air. Tomcats are good, but you're going to be limited if it's only ground targets around. I typically prefer afterburner tanks. You could also go with coyotes, and you can shoot them at the ground for decent damage too.

Before the game started running like shit for me I started changing up my play and fount a style that lead me to a lot of suriveability and fun.

Racer
Stealth
Fire Suppression
Vortek
Hornets

I'd fly high enough and dive on enemies with afterburners on to just shread then like butter with the vortek.
You can switch the hornets out for whatever you prefer but they're fun for me.

I didn't come out on the bad side of too many dogfights either.
Best to find a buddy unless you're confident in your soloing.
