Regarding css and friends, if you can append a ?foo to the end of every css file it will create a cachebuster. If "foo" can be replaced with some random string every time you update the site, you will never have caching issues.

Based off his user name, I'd say he knows what he speaks of.

Sorry, we won't be moving to discourse. I simply don't trust their revenue model. I don't think they'll be around long with "free" services and we have too much good content on this site. I doubt it could be migrated successfully.

this isn't a huge gripe, but does there need to be so much empty space on the sides? it seems like all the content is one narrow strip down the middle of my screen. it looks like the margins are only set dynamically up to a certain point. beyond that, it just fills the sides with the background image. so on a phone it will fill the screen but on my desktop at 1920x1080, it's almost half empty space/filler image.

That's pretty much intentional. The template looks bad if you make it too wide. I don't think I'm going to change that. You have pretty background art to look at in the margins don't you?

Oh. also Firefox and other browsers will remember the setting for the page if you use CTRL +/- to zoom in and out. Use CTRL-ZERO to return to default size.

What dimensions are the signatures being scaled to automatically? It looks like 728x80 or so. I'd like to set mine so it doesn't scale and still fits perfectly.

Hmm. Looks like the max width is 773. If it helps I could widen the board a little to get it to 800px.

I made the board about 50px wider. If there are no issues with laptops and such we'll keep it that way.

I adjusted my signature to a max of 823 pixels wide, checked the forum display on an iPhone 6, iPad Air, latest gen Fire HD, and a Lenova laptop (forget the exact model)... all look good to me.

Just noticed that this new PHPBB has the ability to let you drag and drop attachments right into the full editor. That's a big improvement.

Made a change to the forum title (main) page. Using a Futurama web font and some outline effects.

Honest opinion.... good change or not?
