Does anyone have a printer they don't want to murder slowly and painfully?

In all seriousness does anyone have a printer that has better than a 50% chance of completing the job on the first try? More often then not I have to restart the printer and or my computer. Reinstalling the software on some occasions and when it was set up as a network printer restarting my router. Typical time for successfully printing something is around the time it would take to dump it to a USB stick and drive 20 minutes to an office store. Same issue on my laptop and another desktop. I think the HP Officejet 6500A Plus (Model: E710n-z) is just garbage.

HP is really not a good choice. I like Epson for quality prints and Canon for reliability.

I have an Epson Workforce 545, and it works pretty well. Once you get it setup on your network and install the drivers on your machines, printing is simple. My job uses HP exclusively and the only thing I noticed about them is when they break, it's usually epic. Otherwise they are fine too... but they are business class, so it's hard to make a comparison to a model you would buy for personal use.

EDIT: Yes, what Flexo said lol.

I am very pleased with a multi function Brother printer we just bought about 2 months ago. Model: MFCJ870dw. Used everything but the fax and print-to-cd/dvd features. No problems. Works as advertised as far as I can tell. It got good ratings and reviews from several places I read.

I have an Epson XP-820 for day to day printing and an Epson Artisan 1430 for wide format jobs. Can't go wrong with this brand.

The Lexmark stuff we have at work is damn good. Albeit it's commercial use since we're constantly printing stuff.

I second Epson & Canon both. What do you mainly print? Color documents, B&W documents, blueprints of your enemy's compound, photos?

My Lexmark 3350 served me well for 10-15 years and is only recently asking to get tossed.

I have an older generation of the same model as Xak. A Brother MFC-J8350DW. Had it a few years and it's great. All the features work fine, seems to have a function to refresh and clean the ink heads regularly so they work when you need em. Separate cartridges for all the colors, big one for black. I plan on keeping it a long time.

Thanks everybody. Defiantly not buying a HP again.
